Language - short lesson

 
The language in Corfu is greek.
Of course.
Most people you will meet do speak english,
so there is never any problem understanding.
Sometimes the cleaning lady speaks nothing
but greek, but just smile and say Kalimera
and you will do just fine
I learned to read,write and speak some
so I will give you a little lesson in
most common words.

Ps.I am not using the greek fonts,I am just typing this as it sounds,
a kind of pc greek :-) 
 
Kalimera  -  Good Morning,Good Day
Kalispera  - Good Afternoon,Good Evening
Kalinikta   - Good Night 

Yeia sou   - Hello! (to people you know)
Yeia Sass   - Hello! ( to many people)

Ti kanete - How are You?
Ti kanis  - How are you?
Kala  - Good, OK
Poli Kala  - Very well

Efxaristo - Thank you
Efxaristo Poli  - Thank you very much
Parakalo  - Please
Yamas - Cheers!

Pamme! - Let´s go!
Opa! - Come on!
Pou inne?  - Where is.... 

Poss se lene? - What´s your name? 
Me lene ....- My name is 
Ti ora inne? - What time is it?
Posso? - How much?

Imaste fillo - We are friends
Fille mou - My friend

Avrio - Tomorrow
